Privacy Policy Link


What it is

Shows a button/link on the banner that takes visitors to your site’s Privacy Policy (or any “information page”) so they can quickly understand how you handle personal data.

A Privacy Policy page is your site’s single source of truth about how you collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data. It explains—plainly and in one place—what you collect, why you collect it, who you share it with, how long you keep it, how users can exercise their rights (access, deletion, opt-out), and how to contact you.

How it works

  • The banner renders a Privacy Policy action (label defaults to “Privacy policy”).
  • When clicked, the visitor is redirected to the URL you’ve configured.

Troubleshooting

  • The link doesn’t show: Make sure the Privacy Policy option is toggled on under Configuration → Behavior. On a WordPress site that is not connected to the portal (Banner Only), it is under Cookie Consent tab → Privacy Policy.
  • The link still shows after you turned it off: turning Privacy Policy off hides the link in every language. If Geolocation is on, a region rule under Configuration → Laws that sets its own Privacy Policy setting overrides the switch for visitors in that region. On the New engine this also holds while script blocking is off (the plugin’s Script blocking engine setting is off, a WordPress admin is logged in, or a Free site is over its visit limit; on an over-limit Free site only for visitors whose country is already known): the matching region rule still decides, and the Privacy Policy switch alone decides only where no rule applies or the rule does not set that link. Nothing is blocked in those cases; the rule does not block or release any script. Click Publish Now, then check in a new private window.
  • Wrong page opens: Check the configured URL (and the language you’re previewing). On a connected WordPress site, each save of the plugin settings replaces the link with your WordPress privacy page (when one is set): choose the page under Cookie Consent tab → Privacy Policy and turn on Sync with WordPress Privacy Page.
  • Text won’t translate: Verify your language is enabled and that you set the label for that language.
